For Medium

Capture a Medium story as an image or visual PDF

Keep a visual reference of a story’s layout, chart, or selected passage as it appears in your browser. Page to Image captures the loaded page; it does not bypass membership or access limits.

When a visual capture helps

Keep the rendered story view

Use a visual capture when you want to discuss a page layout or mark a specific part of a story. For text-focused printing, your browser’s Print-to-PDF option may be a better fit.

A local workflow

Capture, refine, and save.

  1. Open content you are allowed to read

Sign in or access the story through your normal browser session. Load the section you need; Page to Image does not bypass paywalls or fetch restricted content.

  2. Capture the current page

Choose Full page for the loaded story, Visible area for the screen, or Selected area for a passage or image. Check that the content you want has finished loading.

  3. Prepare a visual reference

Crop, add a short note, or blur private details in Capture review. Export a PNG, JPEG, or image-only PDF locally.

Choose the right export

For a text-focused document, use browser printing

Use your browser’s Print-to-PDF option when selectable text and a print-style document matter. Page to Image is for the visual page as rendered on screen.

What to know before you capture

Your capture and edits stay in your browser. Page to Image does not upload page contents or screenshots for processing.

Common questions about Medium

Can I save a Medium story as an image?

Yes. Capture the loaded page and export it as PNG or JPEG. You can also save an image-based PDF.

Does this bypass Medium’s paywall?

No. Page to Image captures content already available in your browser. It does not bypass membership or access controls.

Can the PDF text be searched or copied?

No. The PDF contains the visual capture. Use browser printing when text selection is important.
